And throughout the day, they began using different spells like mosquito swarm, cursed fireball, horrific scream, wand auto attacks, and a second casting of Firewhip. This allowed three of them to attack me in round 1, whereas originally only two could. Both times one of them permanently moved to a starting position closer to my pyramid. Twice, the Black Ring members changed their starting positions. The AI did change their tactics a few times, eventually. I appear in the exact same spot each time and perform the exact same actions each time. Hopefully someone found all of this useful, and if not, then at least entertaining. Maybe telekinesis trick where one finds an Ornate Chest, load it to an absurd weight and drop them on targets for 1-shots? I don't even know if that trick works on targets with Evasion buff. When you fought those Bone Smashers, did they come with any buffs such as mine? If so, how did you bypass them? There -HAS- to be a way to counter them. For my dual-wielding rogue, this fight will be a real pain the because the hit percentage is only 11% due to the target's Evasion. Perhaps it's dependent on the version of the game? Mine is the Definitive Edition, v3.6.117.3735.Įdit: I forgot to mentioned that the summoned Lv.15 Undead Black Ring Destroyer has Evasion and Sworn buffs. Rather, it was a Lv.15 Undead Black Ring Destroyer.īased on my own experience and from reading your descriptions, it seems that the level and the type of the summoned creatures by the Black Ring cultists are dependent on the main character's level. A male Black Ring Painweaver summoned a creature on his first turn, but it wasn't a Bone Smasher. I located the four Lv.15 Black Ring cultists surrounding an ancient tree (x:281, y:437). Upon arriving on Reaper's Coast, I learned the Spirit Vision skill and hurried to the Bloodmoon Island. I tried the infinite xp exploit that you mentioned. ![]() So be very careful trying to grind xp here.Įdit: You need to give enough time between the fights for the Black Ring's Raise Bone Smasher spell to recharge. Again though, this is one of the harder areas in Act 2. It's quicker and I'm at a high enough level to where the one gets the job done. I only use one of my two characters in this. It could be handy for anyone that wants to finish out a level before tackling a particularly hard challenge though. Doing it like this, it's going to take at least a couple of hours to grind a full level. I find it's not worth it to prolong the fight to wait for its summoning. A second Bone Smasher will be summoned, but it doesn't happen in round 1. Even at level 16, this is a difficult encounter. I found this to be the quickest and safest method. I kill the Bone Smasher and then escape with the Escapist talent. The Bone Smasher will also attack you once. Use a bed roll before porting here to defend against being blinded by the Firewhip. Three of them will spend their entire turns moving towards you. Round 1 the closest Black Ring will summon a Bone Smasher and use Staff of Magus. Porting to it immediately starts the fight. I have a teleporter pyramid at the east side entrance. ![]() And while this is a way to gain unlimited xp, it is time consuming. At level 16, they give 7225xp, so it is a diminished return each advancing level. I was at the verge of leveling up to 16 when I found this.
